Talaun Thompson LMSW, Program Director

Ms. Talaun S. Thompson is the Program Director of MCC and has worked in the social services field for over 6 years. Ms. Thompson has a Bachelors degree in Psychology, a Masters Degree in Sociology and a Masters Degree in Social Work (LMSW) from the University of Texas at Arlington . Ms. Thompson is currently completing her dissertation for her Doctorate in Psychology. As a Louis Stokes scholar, she researched interpersonal and cross-cultural perceptions; and in 2002 and 2003, was awarded a fellowship and studied in Ghana , West Africa .

Ms. Thompson joined as Program Director for MCC for Human Services in May 2006. Her responsibilities include overseeing Domestic Violence and Counseling Services. She has obtained a grant from Department of Justice to train volunteers and continue to write grants for support services.

Dr.Nadia Emerick, DNP Family

Nurse Practitioner, started full time work as clinical co-ordinator at Al-Shifa Clinicon April 1st , 2011. She obtained her degree in nursing from Jerusalem, Israel and obtained her master’s degree from California State University and Doctor of Nurse Practice (DNP) from Rocky Mountain University, Utah. She had numbers of experience as nurse practitioner with St.Josef Health System, University of Texas MD Anderson, Baylor College of Medicine, Houston and Sherman Internal Medicine group.We are proud to have her as full time staff member and we are expecting her to develop a fine clinical program at Al-Shifa clinic.

Lubna Khurshid MSW, Assistant Program Director

Obtained a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Government College, Multan - Pakistan and Masters in Social Work from University of Texas at Arlington.Shwe taught in High School and Federal College for Women in Peshawar and Multan - Pakistan for seven years prior to coming to United States. She worked as a Social Worker Treatment Coordinator at VA Medical Center, Dallas - Texas and a Service Coordinator in Mental Health and Mental Retardation of Tarrant County.

She has been working as Assistant Program Director for MCC for Human Services since August 2008. Her primary responsibility includes counseling victims of Domestic Violence and Parent Child Issues.

Naureen Raza B.A., Clinic Manager

Obtained a Bachelors degree from Punjab University, Lahore - Pakistan in Journalism and Associate Degree in Computer Support Systems from Tarrant County Junior College. She worked in Tarrant Dialysis Center as Unit Sectary and has been working as an Office Manager at Al-Shifa Clinic, MCC for Human Services since January 2007.
